Christmas Greetings!

It is my sincere prayer that all of our Northside extended family have a wonderful Christmas Holiday!  As Americans we are overwhelmed by the holiday shopping frenzy and the commercialization of the season.  Despite all the wonderful sales and bargains to be found, it is important that Christians not only remember the real reason for the season, but that we make the recognition of Jesus' birth a priority in our lives.  Think back to when you were younger and how much less commercialized Christmas seemed.  Today's children are being bombarded by all the materialism of society and they desperately need parents, youth pastors, Christian teachers, and others to help them see that "stuff" is not what Christmas is all about.  If anything, our gift-giving should remind us that God gave the greatest gift of all when He sent Jesus.  Because of Him, we can have a relationshiip with the Father.  Because of Him, we can have forgiveness of sins and peace in our hearts.  Because of Him, not only is life here on earth better, but heaven awaits those who believe and receive Him.  What better gift can there be than that?
